Narration et temporalité dans As I Lay Dying
Résumé :
International audience
The concept of temporality is at the heart of William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying. This article explores not only how the characters' consciousness of time is mirrored in the structure of the text but also, building on Ricoeur's theory, how narration is used by the main characters as a means to control the process of time. This temporal suspension becomes an interval during which they attempt to comprehend their own temporality.
