Raveling / Unraveling the Fading World of As I Lay Dying

Jacques Pothier

Abstract :
International audience
In Faulkner's nove!, all the Bundrens express in their own way the terrified awareness of the fading quality of their world ( and of the words to say it) as Addie herself is fading. But by fulfilling Anse's absurd promise to bury his wife in Jefferson, they leam to negotiate with the forces of dissolution and discover their resilience.
