This article offers a clinical and theoretical-practical reflection on the therapist’s bodily engagement in Dance Movement Therapy (DMT). Drawing on a specific experience—that of a migrant practitioner—it highlights the extent to which cognition, perception and the therapeutic relationship are rooted in bodily and cultural experiences. DMT is based on the psychocorporal unity, the therapeutic potential of dance and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. The text explores the concepts of kinesthetic empathy, mirroring, the role of improvisation in clinical practice and Laban Movement Analysis, as well as the role of mediating objects. It highlights the need for the therapist to have a detailed understanding of their own motor preferences in order to distinguish between what belongs to them and what emerges from the patient. Finally, it examines intercultural and decolonial issues as well as power dynamics in contemporary arts therapies practices.

Cet article propose une réflexion clinique et théorico-pratique sur l'engagement corporel de la thérapeute en Danse Mouvement Thérapie (DMT). À partir d'une expérience située -celle d'une praticienne migrante -il met en évidence combien la cognition, la perception et la relation thérapeutique sont enracinées dans des expériences corporelles et culturelles. La DMT s'appuie sur l'unité psychocorporelle, le potentiel thérapeutique de la danse et l'importance de la relation thérapeutique. Le texte explore les notions d'empathie kinesthésique, de miroitement (mirroring), la place de l'improvisation dans la clinique et de l'Analyse du Mouvement Laban, ainsi que le rôle des objets médiateurs. Il souligne la nécessité, pour la thérapeute, d'une connaissance fine de ses propres préférences motrices afin de différencier ce qui lui appartient de ce qui émerge du patient. Enfin, il interroge les enjeux interculturels et décoloniaux ainsi que les dynamiques de pouvoir dans les pratiques d'arts-thérapies contemporaines.
