Résumé :

If we can trace interest in emotions back to Greek Antiquity, their scientific approach truly began with the publication in 1872 of the work of the British naturalist Charles Darwin The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals (Channouf and Rouan 2002). Over the course of the century that followed, the study of emotions fell within two major approaches to human behavior: the social sciences, on the one hand, and the psychological sciences on the other.

Si l’on peut faire remonter l’intérêt pour les émotions à l’Antiquité grecque, leur approche scientifique débute véritablement avec la parution en 1872 de l’ouvrage du naturaliste britannique Charles Darwin The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals (Channouf et Rouan 2002). Au cours du siècle qui suivit, l’étude des émotions s’inscrivit au sein de deux grandes approches du comportement humain: les sciences sociales, d’une part, et les sciences psychologiques d’autre part.
