La correspondance conservatrice du whig Burke (1729-1797)

Antoine Capet

Résumé :
Many authors have pointed out Burke’s paradoxical position: as a leading Whig he provided the Tories with the best ammunition against the ideas propounded by the American and French Republican Revolutionists. The examination of his private correspondence (curiously neglected even though it has now been available in print for over twenty years) fully substantiates the views of those who continue to believe that there is a “Burke problem”;.
