This research focuses on the study of the occupation of space and the transmission of stands at the Marché de la Libération or “La Libé” in Nice. The market as such is a space of transit and creation of social interactions. Regular customers who come with their usual sellers, new customers who discover the market by chance, among other examples. This is why, firstly, we questioned the origins and the various transformation processes that the market has undergone. Then, secondly, we wonder about the way in which each merchant begins to “appropriate” their “stand”/“space”. Finally, this led us to explore the different stand transmission processes. These respond to internal and external dynamics between merchants and the town hall. From a methodological point of view, the research is based on market ethnography and semi-structured interviews.

<div><p>La présente recherche porte sur l'étude de l'occupation de l'espace et de la transmission des stands au Marché de la Libération ou « La Libé » à Nice. Le marché en tant que tel est un espace de transit et de création d'interactions sociales. Les clients habituels qui viennent avec leurs vendeurs habituels, les nouveaux clients qui découvrent le marché par hasard, entre autres exemples. C'est pourquoi, dans un premier temps, nous nous sommes interrogés sur les origines et les divers processus de transformation qu'a connus le marché. Puis, dans un second temps, nous nous interrogeons sur la manière dont chaque marchand commence à « s'approprier » son « stand »/« espace ». Enfin, cela nous a amenés à explorer les différents processus de transmission des stands. Ceux-ci répondent à des dynamiques internes et externes entre les marchands et la mairie. D'un point de vue méthodologique, la recherche est basée sur une ethnographie du marché et des entretiens semi-structurés.</p></div>
