Abstract :

International audience

Reflecting on inhabited space, both in its physical and sensory dimensions as well as in its imaginary and poetic dimensions, opens the reflection to a broader inquiry. This exploration intersects the ontological thought of the physicist-poet Gaston Bachelard with the creative thought of the architect-dreamer Peter Zumthor. Although their disciplinary fields differ, their poetic writings converge around the notion of inhabited space, as expressed through their reflections on poetic space. From a poetic reading to a cosmo-poetic writing of inhabited space, both thinkers discover that the space they address carries the essence of the primal house, the house of their childhood. This corner of the world represents the first place of rootedness in existence. Inhabiting is not limited to occupying a place but becomes a profoundly poetic act, a way of connecting to the universe through the prism of lived and imagined space. It creates a deep, intimate connection between matter and imagination, between past and present, to create a spatial experience that transcends mere materiality and reveals its poetic essence.

Penser l'espace habité, tant dans sa dimension physique et sensible que dans sa dimension imaginaire et poétique, ouvre une réflexion plus large. Cette interrogation croise la pensée ontologique du physicien-poète Gaston Bachelard avec la pensée créatrice du concepteur-rêveur Peter Zumthor. Bien que leurs champs disciplinaires diffèrent, leurs écritures poétiques convergent autour de la notion d'espace habité, à travers leur écrit sur l'espace poétique. D'une lecture poétique à une écriture cosmo-poétique de l'espace habité, les deux penseurs découvrent que cet espace qu'ils abordent est porteur de l'essence de la maison première, la maison de leur enfance. Ce coin du monde représente le premier lieu d'enracinement dans le monde. Habiter ne se limite pas à occuper un lieu, mais devient un acte profondément poétique, une manière de se relier à l'univers par le prisme de l'espace vécu et imaginé. De tisser un lien intime entre la matière et l'imaginaire, entre le passé et le présent, pour créer une expérience de l'espace qui transcende sa seule matérialité et révèle son essence poétique.
